Brian G. Burnett, P.E., F.ASCE brings decades of A/E/C leadership and transition experience
March 8, 2018 (Newton, Mass.)—PSMJ Resources is proud to announce that Brian G. Burnett, P.E., F.ASCE has joined its dedicated and growing team of ownership and leadership transition planning experts.
Brian’s focus with PSMJ is in helping A/E/C firm leaders to understand and implement best practices for internal leadership and ownership transition. Brian’s diverse experience in business development, strategic planning, leadership development, and internal transitions for various corporate leader positions specifically in the A/E/C space provides him with a unique perspective to assist PSMJ’s clients.

Brian’s experience with leadership and ownership transitions comes from having been a part of his former A/E/C company’s four major leadership transitions in the firm’s 58-year history. In 1985, Brian became a partner and Vice-President when the founder of the company retired. In 1997, Brian became President when the current President died tragically. In 2003, Brian became the President/CEO upon the retirement of the then CEO who ended a 40-year career as a senior leader with the company. From 2013 to 2017, Brian was responsible for helping the company replace and transition nine major leadership positions, including his CEO position. Overseeing this final transition required extensive planning and leadership development over an eight-year period prior to Brian retiring in June 2017.
Brian has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Mexico. Brian is a Registered Professional Engineer in New Mexico and in 2017; he became a Fellow in the American Society of Civil Engineers. Brian and his wife, Celia, have two children and three grandchildren. Brian and Celia enjoy family activities, volunteering their time, and Bikram Yoga.
