PSMJ’s M&A Directory is a centralized database of A/E firms whose leadership is interested in buying, selling (or anything in between!). On the selling side, each firm has an anonymous profile that provides basic information such as firm size, location, service areas, and other relevant details. On the buying side, each profile has the same information as the seller profiles in addition to a description of desired seller attributes.

 

While some of the firms in the M&A Directory are actually clients of PSMJ’s M&A team, they are not all clients. Rather, this directory represents a wide spectrum of firms that have contacted PSMJ, expressed interest in buying or selling (or merging), and opted in to the M&A Directory.

This firm is a leader in green design, energy conservation, and green power generation, rainwater harvesting, community-wide sustainability studies, and “greening” of industrial plants. The firm’s staff are experts in biogas based power and anaerobic digesters to make green power. This firm is looking for larger partner to take its expertise to nationwide service area.”

 

Seller-147…“A 45-person civil and structural and surveying firm with office in Chicago, IL, recognized for providing survey and engineering design for the transportation industry. The firm is well positioned to take advantage of the new growth in the area.”

 

Buyer-118…“We are a full-service A/E firm in the Great Lakes region. Our corporate leadership wishes to expand into Chicago, IL and is looking to purchase a small architectural firm (up to 20 employees) with proven work experience in affordable housing as well as senior living and/or long-term care. Experience with IHDA, LIHTC, PHA's and HUD is a plus. Other core competencies shared between firms could also include clinical healthcare as well as financial institutions, and/or governmental facilities.”

Here's how it works:

 

Ready to tap into this resource that is like nothing else in the A/E industry? Getting access to PSMJ’s M&A Directory is simple. Just follow these steps to get qualified firm profiles at your fingertips!

 

1. Complete a profile. To access the M&A Directory, our only requirement is that you submit a profile for your own firm. The web-based form (link below) is brief and simple and gives us the needed information to post your profile in the directory. Most importantly, the profile generation process is completely confidential. Once you have completed the web-based form, you can complete the registration process through a brief call with one of our M&A experts to confirm all information, address any initial questions, and get you started! We’ll contact you within five business days after we have received your completed web-based survey.

 

2. Review matching profiles. We’ll provide you with an M&A Directory Snapshot within five business days of completing your registration process (Step 1 above). This M&A Directory Snapshot is a document that contains the profiles of all firms that appear to meet you criteria. If you are a prospective buyer, these will be firms that (based on the information provided) appear to meet your desired target attributes. If you are a prospective seller, these will be firms whose desired target attributes match with what we know about your firm.

 

3. Select profiles to pursue. Once you have reviewed your M&A Directory Snapshot, you inform us of profiles that you would like to be put in contact with. We’ll then contact the selected firm(s) and let them know that you’d like to learn more about them (only revealing your anonymous profile). Once the selected firm(s) responds positively, we handle the execution of non-disclosure agreements and then make the introduction through an exchange of contact information. Where the process goes from there is up to you! Even better, unless you decide that you’d like our assistance, there is no cost due to PSMJ from the buyer or seller!
