HURRICANES KATRINA and RITA tore through the Gulf Coast without conscience ravaging businesses, obliterating homes and destroying livelihoods. They killed hundreds, destroyed families and businesses, and devastated the entire infrastructure.
Efforts to rebuild the region will take years. As design professionals, we are in a unique position to marshal our resources to help provide funds for these communities to plan and build their future.
PSMJ Resources Inc. has formed a not-for-profit corporation, The Gulf Coast Rebuilding Fund, Inc. under the direction of President and CEO Frank A. Stasiowski, FAIA and his wife, Joan.
We are calling upon the Architecture, Engineering, Metal Construction and Construction Products communities to unite in raising funds to donate to the Gulf Coast for the rebuilding effort.
On November 16-19, Frank and Joan visited Waveland, Mississippi, one of the towns along the Gulf Coast hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina. Please click here to view some before and after photographs of what once was a picturesque, seaside community.
